Promo Script
Remember the key messages we want to convey...
- Real people flying the aircraft and controlling, not computer guided or controlled
- Ease of use, from the pilot point of view
- Technologically advanced global network, voice, weather, etc.
- Exciting interactions in a very realistic setting
- Friendly people who do this because it is fun
I will post that list on a couple other pages as well so we keep our focus no the message.

We are VATSIM
Script ? draft 1
[DARYL] We are VATSIM, a friendly community of people,,,
using a combination of Flight Simulator programs and PC based ATC counsels,,,
networked together to form a simulated global air traffic environment.
[DARYL] VATSIM members reach beyond the confines of flying solo with computerized traffic,,,
to a world where we all see each other in the aircraft type and livery we individually fly.
[DARYL] All the airplanes in VATSIM?s sky are actually being flown by someone just like you, in control of their own flight, using their own flightplan, and communicating with other members who staff the virtual ATC equivalent of real world airspace.
[DARYL] For many, the adventure begins in a general aviation aircraft with a group of friends flying VFR with ATC Flight Following.
[DARYL] For others, the preference is loading up a few hundred virtual passengers,,,
then making a transcontinental flight under the control of other VATSIM members who offer ATC service which is often hard to tell from the real thing.
[DARYL] The controllers are what really make VATSIM work. (EXPAND??)
[DARYL] In places everywhere around the world,,,
our members are on-line,,,
staffing ATC positions,,,
calling for clearance,,,
getting handed off to the departure controllers,,,
being cleared to land,,,
or training to move up in the ATC ranks.

Now picture the video with a polished version of that script. It cuts back and forth to a combination of real world video and PC screen captures. Daryl's narration is clipped by several inserted scripts of ATC and Pilot voices:
- [pilot] request for clearance
- [ATC] clearance on request standby
- [ATC] clear for takeoff
- [ATC] climb maintain flight level three four zero
- [pilot] readback
- [ATC] turn 30 degrees LEFT for traffic
- [pilot] readback
- [ATC] clear ILS three zero left
- [ATC] clear to land
- [pilot] readback
OK, you get the idea? Now lets make this thing happen.
